Criminal Record Certificates: Service Available at RIAC for Individuals and Legal Entities

Criminal Record Certificates, both for citizens - individuals, and for companies and other entities - legal entities, can be obtained at any RIAC shop.

 

With this service, RIAC aims to meet the needs of all citizens and entities in the Autonomous Region of the Azores, offering a convenient and practical way to obtain this document. This reaffirms its commitment to providing essential public services efficiently, with quality, and in close proximity.

 

The Criminal Record Certificate includes relevant criminal records for the purpose for which the document is intended, or the absence thereof.

 

For legal entities, the certificate attests to the existence or non-existence of criminal records of the entity, in accordance with current legislation.

 

If there are criminal records of a legal entity, the certificate mentions all criminal convictions of the legal entity issued by Portuguese courts. It also includes all criminal convictions of the legal entity that has its headquarters, effective management, or permanent representation in Portugal, issued by foreign courts, provided they are communicated under international agreements.

 

The request for the certificate for a legal entity can be made by the legal representative or by a person authorized by them.
